What to expect
Cockroach gel works differently than sprays. Instead of killing roaches immediately, it attracts them to feed. Roaches carry the bait back into their hiding places, where it spreads throughout the population—including roaches you never see.
You may continue seeing cockroaches for several days after applying the bait. This is normal and often means the treatment is working. Avoid disturbing or spraying over the bait while roaches are actively feeding so it can continue working effectively.
Safety & Tips
For the best results:
- Place bait where cockroaches hide and travel, but where children and pets can't access it.
- Avoid food-contact surfaces and never allow food to come into contact with the bait.
- Don't apply bait where it will be washed away, exposed to steam, or cleaned regularly.
- Avoid applying bait to surfaces recently treated with residual insecticides, and don't spray over existing bait placements.
- Keep bait away from excessive heat, direct sunlight, and areas with strong airflow, which can reduce its effectiveness.
- Always read and follow the directions, precautions, and storage instructions on the product label.
Where to place bait
Place bait where cockroaches hide
Apply small pea-sized dots of gel in areas where cockroaches live, travel, or are likely to emerge. Focus on protected spaces close to their hiding places rather than open surfaces.
The closer the bait is to where cockroaches hide, the more effective it will be.
Behind toilet/vanity
Plumbing penetrations
Around large appliances
Cracks inside or outside
Along baseboards
Countertop near wall
Utility/laundry/garage
Around doors & windows
Do not apply in the following areas:
Areas recently treated with residual insecticide
Areas easily accessible to children and pets
Areas that come in contact with food
Hot or steamy areas
Frequently cleaned or wet surfaces
How to apply
Place small dots
Place small, pea-sized dots of gel directly into cracks, crevices, and other hiding places. Several small placements work better than one large application, and a little goes a long way.
Spread your placements
Distribute bait throughout the room near areas where cockroaches hide and travel, such as under sinks, behind appliances, and around plumbing. For heavier infestations, use more placements—not larger dots.
Let the bait work
Leave bait undisturbed after application. Roaches will feed on it and carry it back to their hiding places, helping control the population over time. Avoid spraying or cleaning directly over bait placements.
How much to apply
More placements beat larger placements
Use several small dots or short beads across the treatment area instead of one large application. Spreading bait near multiple activity areas helps more cockroaches find it.
Increase the number of placements if:
- Activity is widespread
- Multiple trails or hiding areas are active
- Bait has been completely consumed
Replace bait if it has been completely consumed, becomes contaminated with dirt or dust, or dries out before the infestation is controlled.
